I realize that I have fallen into a trap of being too reluctant to post on here and have been too critical of potential posts. This site wasn’t intended to prove that less is more. The aim was to just create, share, and encourage me to create things for the sake of doing. I should try to post more and be less picky with what I put up (”Hey!” to you who are shocked to hear that I was being picky)

This guy above was fed up with my lack of posting and shamed me into writing this with his harumph pose. I’m not making any promises, just nudging myself.

I love the light at this time of afternoon, and year, as the shadows get longer and longer.

What happened to the Italy photos?
I will get back to them sometime, especially as it gets colder here. Though I don’t think there’s a lot in there. Last time I looked at them they seemed more interesting as bookmarks to the trip than anything interesting on their own. Perhaps time will change my mind.

Just back from a 2 week visit to Italy. Taking photos in Italy is a strange experience. The country is full of postcard views and every photo looks like a cliche. I took many, and it will be a while before I look at them all, but I will share the ones that I like. This one, though not in chronological order, is from a half day spent in the beautiful town of Siena.

I’m very sad to say that my favourite model and best pal for the last 19 years died last thursday the 26th of June. I was very lucky to know him for so long.

It’s only been a few weeks but it seems like a decade ago.

The best lunch special in Toronto. Soup and a main course (choose one of two soups to start plus one of five main dishes - Beef, green beans, shrimp, mixed vegetables or chicken) with steamed or egg fried rice plus tea for $6 per person. Ask for hot sauce (chilies & oil) on the side.

This was taken about 24 hours after the fire that destroyed a city block on Queen street in February 2008. The word Video is all that’s left of my friend’s video rental shop. To the right of this shot are the rubble remains of a 3 story building that housed a family business, Duke’s Cycle Bike shop, for over 50 years. Incredibly, no one was hurt in the fire but about 60 people lost their homes or businesses.
